Who We Are

Roots is redefining real estate investing with a never before seen resident-centric model. We’re totally reshaping the tenant-landlord relationship by offering residents the chance to not just rent but partner in the property they live in. This is not rent-to-own; this is the first ever own-while-you-rent program! Our innovative “Live In It Like You Own It®” program is about more than just providing a place to live; it’s about fostering a sense of community and financial empowerment. By intertwining investment opportunities and resident engagement we have proven that this model truly does do good by the residents, and performs quite well for our Investors.

Roots is committed to making a positive impact and helping millions of people build wealth through real estate. We believe that a win-win ecosystem is the only type worth building!

Our Why

We fundamentally believe that everyone should have an opportunity to build wealth. This belief is what guides our mission of giving everyone the opportunity to build wealth and secure their financial future through investment in real estate.

In pursuit of our mission we will help 1 Million people grow wealth by breaking down the barriers to real estate investment for the masses, and making real estate as easy to invest in as the stock market.

Why We Need You

As an Associate Chief of Staff, you’ll be the organizational backbone of our fast-moving startup, supporting our co-founders by keeping operations, logistics, and priorities running smoothly. This role is a blend of executive support, project coordination, and operational execution—helping our team stay aligned and efficient in a dynamic environment.

This is not a senior leadership or strategic decision-making role. Instead, you’ll focus on executing priorities, managing schedules, coordinating projects, and ensuring follow-through on key initiatives. Your ability to bring structure to fast-moving ideas, keep operations on track, and anticipate needs will be critical in helping our co-founders maximize their impact.

You’ll play a hands-on role in keeping things organized—owning key administrative and operational tasks, streamlining processes, and ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks.

What You’ll Do

  • Be the co-founders’ force multiplier, ensuring they are focused on high-impact work while you handle critical operations and logistics.
  • Manage the co-founders’ calendars, optimizing schedules, coordinating meetings, and ensuring they are focused on the highest-priority work.
  • Own special projects, acting as a problem-solver, strategist, and executor on initiatives that impact the entire company.
  • Book travel, manage itineraries, and coordinate logistics for high-stakes meetings, investor presentations, and company offsites.
  • Plan and execute company events, from internal team-building sessions to larger-scale investor meetings.
  • Work closely with the co-founders to ensure culture remains a priority, helping to reinforce team engagement, alignment, and company values.
  • Act as a trusted partner, handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Keep a pulse on priorities, ensuring key initiatives stay on track and that nothing slips through the cracks.

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of experience in an operational, Chief of Staff, executive support, or high-level administrative role.
  • Startup mindset—you thrive in fast-paced environments, adapt quickly to change, and love solving problems on the fly.
  • Extreme organizational skills—you can juggle multiple priorities without breaking a sweat.
  • Bias for action—you don’t just identify problems, you take ownership and execute solutions.
  • Strong communicator—you can engage professionally with internal teams, investors, and external partners.
  • Proven ability to manage complex logistics, including executive scheduling, travel coordination, and event planning.
  • Tech-savvy—proficiency in Google Workspace, Asana, Hubspot and the ability to pick up new tools quickly.
  • A natural problem solver—you anticipate challenges before they arise and take proactive steps to keep things running smoothly.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • A rare opportunity to work directly with the co-founders of a mission-driven, high-growth startup.
  • The chance to shape and optimize operations in a company that’s scaling fast and making an impact.
  • A fast-moving, no-red-tape environment where you can take ownership, run with ideas, and make things happen.
  • A team that’s obsessed with innovation, execution, and changing the game in real estate investing.
The total compensation for this role is $60,000–$80,000, based on experience. As a growing startup, we offer a dynamic environment with opportunities to take on more responsibility and grow with the company over time.
